Prestwick Pharmaceuticals Announces the Appointment of
David Cory as Chief Commercial Officer

Prestwick recruits sales & marketing veteran to build commercial organization

Washington, D.C. – October 14, 2003 – Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a CNS specialty pharmaceutical company, announced today the appointment of David Cory to the position of Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Cory has over 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and is recognized for building world class teams and establishing a track record of commercial success. Most recently, he served as Acting Chief Commercial Officer at CoTherix where he played a key role in raising $55 million in capital and in-licensing the companies lead compound.

Prior to his work at CoTherix, Mr. Cory was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at InterMune, Inc. He was responsible for building and managing the InterMune commercial organization of 130 employees and generating revenues in excess of $100 million in 2002. Mr. Cory was a key executive team member at InterMune involved in the acquisition of 4 products and raising over $400 million in the capital markets. Mr. Cory spent the first 12 years of his career in positions of increasing responsibility in Sales and Marketing at Upjohn and Glaxo Smith Kline in multiple therapeutic areas including CNS, Anesthesia and Critical Care, Oncology, Infectious Disease, Respiratory, and Metabolic diseases. Mr. Cory has directed 10 pharmaceutical product launches and has managed the commercialization of over 20 brands.

Mr. Cory is a graduate of The College of Pharmacy at The University of Cincinnati and attended The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Prestwick has multiple late-stage product candidates for CNS disorders in clinical development. The company’s lead product is tetrabenazine, a molecule that has been approved to treat Huntington’s Chorea in Europe, Canada, and Australia. Tetrabenazine is currently undergoing pivotal Phase III clinical testing in the U.S. and Prestwick plans to file an NDA next year.
